Next HTC Sensation to sport a 1.5 GHz processor: FCC

HTC Sensation has been HTC’s stalwart smartphone. HTC is capitalizing on the Sensation name by launching more handsets under the same name. We already know about the HTC Sensation XE and FCC has now released information about the next-of-the line HTC Sensation 4G.

The note indicates that HTC had requested the permission to modify its CPU from a 1.2 GHz to a 1.5 GHz and has the FCC passed it.

The Sensation 4G equipped with a 4.3-inch S-LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 540 x 960p, Along with multi-touch output, accelerometer, gyro sensor, proximity sensor and HTC Sense UI -3.0.

It is also equipped with an 8-megapixel dual-LED Flash camera along with geo-tagging, touch-focus, image stabilization, face detection, instant capture and 1080p video recording.

The Sensation 4G runs on the most advanced version of Android till date – Android Gingerbread 2.3. It is currently powered by a 1520 mAh battery, but, according to speculations, HTC has applied to FCC for the permit to pack in a bigger battery to power an improved 1.5 GHz processor.

The Sensation has been HTC’s highest selling Android smartphone till date. Competing in the market with handsets such as the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S2.

While the Sensation 4G is currently available in the U.S. and Europe, it is yet to release in India. The primary reason behind this is seen to be that India is yet in the initial stages of 3G; So 4G seems a distant reality.

But, on the upside Reliance has claimed that it would provide us with our first 4G connection by December, while industry pundits are predicting that India will be 4G ready by 2012.
