Sony Ericsson has come up with an Android 2.3.4 update for its popular gaming phone Xperia Play, granting it capability to capture videos at 720p HD through its 5-megapixel camera.

Also, now it can constantly use autofocus feature. Moreover, the Xperia Play can now toggle for automatic display brightness configuration, with this update.

It was quite shocking that the Xperia Play didn’t release with either of these functionalities, but thanks to Sony Ericsson for upgrading the smartphone that has bring such interesting functionalities to it.

Sony Ericsson revealed earlier this month that the Xperia Play is performing great in the market as well as it was expected, despite of such omissions. It is very popular due to its gaming capabilities and PlayStation Network integration, however it runs Android on a single core processor.

There are rumours that Xperia range might get Android Ice Cream sandwich update in the future. To which company has not said anything as of now.

The brand is expecting from its Xperia Play that it will do particularly well during the Christmas time. Also, hinted the outcome would be specifically appraising the overall success of the mobile phone.
