Android's latest iteration, Ice Cream Sandwich caught running on a Google Nexus S

This seems to be a lucky day for us tech buffs. Earlier today, we reported on a video of an iPhone 5 in action and now we have another leak in our hands. Well this time it’s from the other side of the bridge, Android.
Well, the latest iteration of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich which is slated for a launch in October or November (the former being more likely) has now been caught running on a Google Nexus S.
We’ve seen some images of the Nexus S running the Ice Cream Sandwich, but this video gives us a clearer picture as to what’s in store. Google has maintained the core Android user interface but has made some tweaks to the icons and its placement. The app drawer icon is in the center at the bottom most part of the display surrounded by four shortcuts.
Long pressing the home button will reveal a scroll down list of apps along with a preview of the running app. And our favorite feature is the addition of a separate widgets section in the application menu. The changes made to the user interface certainly look promising and more functional than ever.
As bizarre as it may sound, the current owner of the device got it from eBay and found Ice Cream Sandwich running on the handset. He then thought of making a quick video of the handset so as to demonstrate the features.
Well, Google certainly wouldn’t like the big surprise being given away like this especially with an announcement supposed to happen on October 11th. Either way, we now know what to expect from ICS and what not to.
Now all we’re waiting for is the launch of the Nexus Prime which will be Android’s new flagship smartphone. We just hope that the Nexus Prime lives up to the hype and expectations that users have from the new Google phone, manufactured by Samsung.
Take a look at the video below for more on Ice Cream Sandwich and its features.
