Admirers of Exynos SoC family have a reason to celebrate. Samsung has announced another addition to the family. The news came into light in the Samsung Mobile Solutions Forum held in Taipei yesterday.
The Korean company launched a dual-core Samsung Exynos 4212. Power-packed and lightning fast, the new model will be the successor to 4210 chip that is the harbinger of Samsung's present flagship smartphone titled Samsung GALAXY S II.
According to phonearena, the finest feature of Samsung Exynos 4212 is its 1.5 Ghz processor. Exynos 4210 had 1.2 Ghz; a clear jump from its predecessor. This makes it function at lightning fast speed. Another excellent feature of it is the fact that it has been made using a 32-nanometer process. This feature makes it an extremely power efficient device.
The 32-nanometer process results in 30 percent gain in power efficiency. Exynos 4210 was built with 45-nanometer process.
What makes Samsung Exynos 4212 a more interesting prospect is its new graphics core that facilitates in 50 percent quicker delivery of 3D graphics.
Meanwhile, the market is abuzz with strong rumors that Samsung Exynos 4212 might power the Google Nexus Prime. Another possibility doing circles is that company might shortlist other companies for the chip testing drill and allow them to use it in their own smartphone models and tablets.
Exynos 4212 certainly holds the key for Samsung in long term. After failing miserably on tablets front, the Korean company is looking to make amends and the launch of Exynos 4212 might just do the trick here.
However, one thing that goes in favour of Samsung is its strong bond with Android and stronghold in smartphone and tablets market. Such advantage can definitely work wonders for Exynos 4212.
