iPhone 4S arrives on October 14

Apple unveiled its highly anticipated iPhone 4S yesterday. With so much hype and euphoria surrounding the "Let's talk iPhone" event we had hoped that the event will culminate in the launch of iPhone 5. Well hopefully Apple will surprise us on October 12 with the launch of iCloud.

Moving on, to the iPhone 4S. The super device rolls out with a faster A5 dual core processor, 8-mega pixel camera and video capture (up to 1080p) and will be available in a CDMA and a "World Version". 

The iPhone 4S also comes equipped with a bunch of new features and tweaks the problems with earlier iPhone 4. It has a new antenna that can swap between antennas. Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing said, "as you know we revolutionised with these steel bands on the outside of the phone. We've done something technically amazing. It can now intelligently switch between the antennas for even better call quality.'

The iPhone 4S also brings a better battery life on board giving Apple lovers a 8 hours of talk time, 14 hours of 2G talk time, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 9 hours of Wi-Fi browsing.

Also for game lovers iPhone 4S brings faster download at 14Mbps which is twice as that of its predecessor. Another cool feature is the voice guided assistant software by Siri. Now you can use this intelligent software to ask “Will I need an umbrella this weekend?”  and it will understand you are looking for a weather forecast. Now that's amazing!

With the launch of iPhone 4S also comes the launch of iOS 5, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system with over 200 new features. While the Apple iPhone 4S specs have been bumped up on all fronts, the display size has been left untouched. Sad!

Available in a 64GB variant as well as a 16 GB and 32 GB variant, the powerful device goes on pre-order starting on October 7. Prices start at $199 (Rs 10,000 approx) for the 16GB version, $299 ( Rs 15,000) for the 32GB and $399 (Rs 20,000) for the 64GB. The delivery will start on October 14. The iPhone 4S will be available in 70 countries across 100 networks.
