An anonymous tipster supposedly spilled the beans about the much anticipated Nexus Prime to BGR. It looks like the smartphone may not even be known as the Nexus Prime and may be renamed Galaxy Nexus or Droid Prime instead. According to the tipster, the phone will indeed run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Nexus Prime is rumoured to be either 8.8mm or 9mm thick and offer 1GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It will be powered by a TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex A9 1.2GHz processor and be supported by a 1750 mAh battery.

The most incredible feature of this powerful machine promises to be its curved glass display, similar to the display of the Nexus S. The phone is said to come with a huge 4.65’’ Super AMOLED HD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720p, promising crystal clear images.

The device sports 2 cameras, one in the front and one at the back. The rear facing camera is surprisingly 5MP instead of 8MP but is nevertheless capable of capturing HD video at 1080p. The front facing 1.3MP camera will make video calls a breeze. The Nexus Prime will offer support for LTE and HSPA, WI-Fi and NFC.

The all glass phone will have minimum metal casing, a design that is sure to give it a sleek and sophisticated twist. If all the rumours surrounding the Nexus Prime turn out to be true, the smartphone will be equipped enough to take on Apple’s latest offering.

Since the phone is likely to release just a few weeks after the iPhone 4S, smartphone enthusiasts will have a lot to choose from in the coming months.
