The first time I heard about Steve Jobs was when I was about 12. I was shown this expensive gadget that rich kids use to flaunt. While the kids were irritating, the gadget called the iPod was a revelation in itself. It gave an exemplary voice clarity and storage that I had never seen till that.
I should remind you, those were the days when even a Walkman was considered a luxury. And even if you had one, you needed to chug it around with CD’s and what not. The iPod was something I always dreamt about but never thought I would get to see in my lifetime.
That iPod opened up a new world to me. The world of getting what you desire, the world of achievement – Steve Jobs’ world.
The iPod was just the start of my Apple addiction. It went on to every Apple product I could get my hands. Hell, I am even writing this on a Mac.
Steve Jobs inspired me to let my imagination flow freely. He is a metaphor for achieving what I want with no fear of hurdles or what people might say. He is one of the people who could be themselves rather than someone else and still create something that the world would bow down to. Steve Jobs to me is the epiphany of dreaming and achievement.
Steve Jobs’ death has got me thinking about two things: Firstly, how effervescent life is and secondly, what really needs to be done with life.
I would keep on dreaming and persistently trying to achieve my dreams, thanks to Steve Jobs.
