Would you like to say that the iPhone 4S was a disappointment while we were waiting with baited breaths for the revolutionary iPhone 5? Think long and hard before speaking, you might have to eat your words. While the iPhone 4S is definitely not the iPhone 5, the numbers tell a whole new tale for this phone.
The iPhone 4S, which was procrastinated to be a flop phone, has shattered all preorder records of previous iPhone. U.S. career AT&T has reported more than 2,00,000 iPhone 4S handsets being placed for preorder. Apple’s latest iPhone, despite having an identical form factor with its predecessor – the iPhone 4 is set to make Apple’s fifth iPhone innings a resounding success.
The previous week has been a rollercoaster for Apple and its fans worldwide. After much speculating, leaking and rumor-mongering, Apple finally released a new version of the iPhone at the ‘Lets talk iPhone’ event. Apple was expected to surprise and delight us with its revolutionary iPhone 5. Well, that didn’t happen. They released the iPhone 4S, which is basically the iPhone 4 with little fancy hardware thrills such as a new camera and a new OS – the OS 5.
The iPhone 4S was called a disappointing slob an it even led to a drop in Apple’s shares. But the iPhone 4S launch isn’t even half of it. Apple’s founder, the man behind its revolutionary success, Steve Jobs passed away two days after the launch of iPhone 4S. His death created a tumult worldwide and reinstated everyone’s trust in Apple.
After the heart-wrenching news of Jobs’ demise, the high orders of the iPhone 4S have come as a welcome relief for Apple. It also needs to be noted that the iPhone 4S is actually quite a buy. Equipped with an A5 chip, iOS 5, Siri Voice assistant and an 8-megapixel camera amongst many features. But the best feature of the phone is its price tag. At $199 (around Rs. 10,000), it is the cheapest iPhone ever.
It seems that the iPhone 4S has inherited the champion genes from its predecessors and is set to continue and strengthen Apple’s position at the top of the smartphone market.
