Asustek's Eee Pad Transformer continues to be one of the best selling Android honeycomb tablets. It therefore did not come as surprise when the company announced the launch of its second generation Asus Eee Pad Transformer.
If the recent reports are to be believed the Transformer 2 tablet will be hitting the market by November-December. What makes Transformer 2 one of the most tending topics is its super powerful specs.
It is rumored that the Transformer 2 tablet will be powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, which beats all tablets hands down. Folks at the androidauthority give us a graphic representation of how the powerful Kal-EL, aka Tegra 3 fares against others.
Powered by Android's latest iteration, Ice Cream Sandwich, the tablet is expected to arrive with a holographic user interface for tablet and smartphone users providing a rich experience and better application framework.
The tablet cum PC device is expected to sport a 10.1’’ display and come in the dimensions of 7x10x0.5. While we don't have any concrete figures on the resolution front, gauging from the fact that Asus Transformer comes with 1200 x 800, we expect the Transformer 2 to beat this number.
The USP as we all are aware is its connecting keyboard, hence known as "Transformer". The device is also speculated to support a 16/32GB internal storage and come equipped with a 5 mega-pixel rear camera and a 720p video capabilities.
While most of the manufacturers are slashing prices of their devices, Asustek CEO Jerry Shen has stated clearly that it is not planning to cut back on the price of Eee Pad Transformer. Speaking to Digitimes, Shen also pointed out that its highly anticipated second-generation Eee Pad Transformer is on schedule and will be priced at US$499 ( Rs 25,000).
Shen was quoted as saying, "the Android tablet PCs have been seeing improvements and the upcoming Android 4.0, which will be released at the end of 2011, should be able to satisfy market's demand and help Android tablet PC to compete against Apple's iPad on the same ground".
Packing in efficiency, style and a new age quad-core processor, Transformer 2 is bound to give the device a upper hand among all the other tablets currently available in the market.
