Sony Ericsson is known for their high-end Xperia range of phones. But it is a little-known fact that before the launch of the Xperia, the company had launched a range of feature phones such as the T230, which failed to make a mark.
Now, Sony Ericsson is back with a bang in the feature phone market. And this time (thankfully) they have designed their feature phones keeping in mind the needs of their consumers. Enter the Sony Ericsson Txt, a phone designed around the texting and Social networking needs of consumers.
The Txt boasts of a 2.55-inch TFT WQVGA touchscreen along with a 3.2-megapixel camera. It comes with Micro USB and Bluetooth support.
The Sony Ericsson Txt comes with features such as Wi-Fi support, a ‘friends’ app and a full QWERTY keyboard. Besides more than average smartphone features the Txt offers music connect, FM Radio support and a direct Facebook app. It seems quite an attractive phone targeting the budget phone market.
So, without further ado, Know Your Mobile presents the 5 features we liked best in the Sony Ericsson Txt:
Vibrant colors
Generally, we do not mention about the form factor first. But we will gladly make an exception for the Sony Ericsson Txt. The vibrant colors of this handset simply take your heart away.
While the handset is available in Blue, Black, White and Pink colors, we like the blue best. Besides the color the handset also has silver finish around its edges and a full QWERTY keyboard dabbled in the color of the handset.
Superior texting
The handsets’ name itself indicates that it is built to text. While texting has been made easy with full QWERTY keyboard, the handset provides easy access to text messaging, MMS, instant messaging and email. Along with a built-in email client, the handset boasts of direct Facebook access and free PC-PC call and chat via Gtalk
Music capabilities
Besides a 3.5mm audio jack that supports most of the headphones in the market, the Txt has an integrated media player, TrackID Music recognition, easy music downloads, A2DP Bluetooth (supports Bluetooth headset) along with multi format such as MP3, AAC support. It also boasts of an FM radio with RDS.
Enhanced connectivity and browsing
The Txt phone offers superior connectivity options through Wi-Fi, MicroUSB support and a full Internet browser called the Obigo Q7.
Camera
While every feature phone is coming loaded with a camera, the Txt has one with a twist. It has a 3.2-megapixel camera that not only allows you to not only record videos and pictures but also upload them directly to the web.
