Motorola’s new teaser video runs like an advertisement and indicates that the company is about to unveil a fancy new device soon
Published on Oct 11, 2011
Motorola sent out an email with a link to its new video to Knowyourmobile.com, telling us to get excited about a new device that promises to be ‘faster, thinner, smarter and stronger’ than ever before. Accordingly to the email, we will be introduced to Motorola’s next in a week’s time, on the 18th of October.
Details about the new device are sketchy; the video doesn’t reveal any specs. In fact, it doesn’t even say what the device is. Keeping with the faster, thinner, smarter and stronger theme, the video is like one of those classic ads that rouse your curiosity without giving anything away.
Motorola sure has caught our attention with images of faster (Bugatti Veyron, jet fighter), thinner (razor, coin, feather), smarter (brain, tic tac toe puzzle) and stronger (Motorola logo, diamond). The images and the colour scheme of black, gray and red indicate a high-end device that is looking to compete with rivals like Apple and Samsung.
The new device may well be a tablet or a handset, but expert opinions lean towards the latter. The company could also be revamping an earlier smartphone and releasing it with second generation components. Motorola may be looking at a redone model of the Razr too.
The new teaser by Motorola is also doing the rounds on YouTube and fans are hopeful about what the company will offer next week. Motorola’s announcement is timely, given that the holiday season is coming close and other smartphone and tablet makers are in a race to launch the next best thing in the tech market.
Motorola has a lot of competition from players like Samsung, Sony, and Apple etc. To successfully carve a niche for itself among users, it will need to come out with an exceptional device. It looks like users will have a lot to choose from in the coming weeks. Like Motorola says, stay tuned for 8.10.2011.
