If there is one thing that Sony Ericsson is known for, it is their Xperia range of smartphones. After giving us successful smartphones such as the Xperia Mini pro and Xperia Active, Sony is set to unveil its range of feature phones in India. One of the upcoming phones is the Sony Ericsson Txt.

The Sony Ericsson is the first feature phone from Sony Ericsson in a long time. Sony Ericsson’s previous feature phone innings turned out to be a dud attributing to flop phones such as the T230. But this time, it seems, they have put market research and product designing together to come out with stylish feature phones such as the Sony Ericsson Txt.

The Sony Ericsson Txt is QWERTY phone armed with a 2.55-inch 320 x 240 pixels WQVGA screen and a 3.2-megapixel camera. It comes with Wi-Fi, GPRS and EDGE connectivity. The handset is designed around texting and has user-friendly SMS, MMS, Instant messaging (IM) and inbuilt email client.

Being a Sony, the phone is equipped with enhanced music capabilities. It comes with TrackID music recognition that lets you not only conveniently locate and listen to music but also share it through Twitter.

The play now feature of the phone makes it easy to download games and music from the net. An in-built music player integrates music and videos along with playing multi formats such as MP3 and AAC while it’s A2DP Bluetooth makes it easy to connect to devices such as a Bluetooth headset.

The phone is also equipped with an Obigo Q7  browser that is supposed to make browsing easier. The Txt comes pre-loaded with Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Although the stats seem good for a feature phone, but what really swept us off our feet was the looks of the handset. The handset comes in vibrant hues of Blue, Black, Pink and white. The Blue one looks, well, simply delightful. Even the Silver lining on the edges of the phone looks good.

Overall, the phone looks more like a Blackberry smartphone rather than a feature phone. One thing we decidedly miss in the Sony Ericsson Txt is 3G support, which in our opinion would have made it an ultimate feature phone.

While the usual suspects such as 32 GB MicroSD support, USB connectivity and a 3.5 mm jack are there, we would rate the Txt as a standard feature phone.

The Sony Ericsson Txt was to release this month, but currently there is no feed from Sony on the availability or price of the handset.

Trust us to keep you updated.
