Everything you need to know about the Sony Ericsson Txt Pro

Sony Ericsson is coming out with its own range of feature phones in India. The brand, currently known for its range of high-end stylish Xperia range of phones will soon showcase its feature phones such as the Sony Ericsson Txt and the Sony Ericsson Txt Pro.

Sony seems to have developed a fad for developing feature phones that look similar to high-end smartphones. While the Sony Ericsson Txt looks more Blackberry-esque, the Txt Pro seems to have derived inspiration from Sony’s own Xperia Mini Pro. It has a similar slide-out QWERTY keyboard and 3-inch touchscreen.

The Sony Ericsson Txt pro is a GSM handset with dedicated text messaging features. First up, it has a 3-inch TFT WVGA 240 x 400 pixels touchscreen along with a 3.2-megapixel camera, which gives a picture resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels.

The Txt Pro is designed to attend to the social networking and texting needs of its users. Besides the usual SMS, MMS and instant messaging, it is pre-loaded with Twitter, Facebook and Google Talk. It also has a ‘friends’ app that lets users select 5 people from their phonebook and receive regular updates from them.

The Txt Pro, like the Xperia Mini Pro has a touchscreen along with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Besides a physical QWERTY it also has an onscreen QWERTY and 12 key input. Four icons located on the sides of the touchscreen provide quick access to shortcuts.

Sony calls the Txt pro an intuitive phone that can be used with a single finger. It also has auto rotate i.e. as soon as you turn the phone horizontally the touchscreen also rotates making it easy to type. The set also has predictive text output and a voice notes feature.

Given that it is social networking phone, seamless connectivity to the net is important. The Txt Pro comes with Wi-FI, USB sync, MicroUSB capability and A2DP Bluetooth.

Besides concentrating on texting and social networking features, Sony has also embedded the Txt Pro with enhanced music capabilities. It comes with a Sony Ericsson music player along with a media player. Along with that it has TrackID music recognition that makes it easy to search listen and share songs. The Txt Pro has a feature called the Clear Stereo, which creates well-defined left and right sound channels to prevent sound leakage. In addition to that, it has a media browser for browsing music conveniently.

The USP of the set seems its design and price. While the Txt Pro is touted to be an affordable feature phone, it looks no less than a smartphone. It comes in attractive Pink, Black and White colors.
