Siri has an answer ready for everything

Joshua Topolsky of Thisismynext came across some very funny answers when he asked Siri a number of questions ranging from the profound to the mundane. He has posted these answers on shitthatsirisays, a website dedicated to the voice recognition system. Anyone who has got an interesting answer from Siri can publish his/her experience on the site.                              

There has obviously been a lot of work that has gone into developing Siri, not to mention a healthy dose of humour too. As a result of all the hard work, Siri has turned out to be the next big thing in the world of mobile telephony. 

Siri indeed has an answer ready for everything. For something that it is capable of doing, it carries out its task and tells the user that it has done so, just like a really good assistant. What’s more, it refers to the user on a first name basis, like a friend. 

For everything it cannot do, Siri politely turns down requests. It is equipped to put users on the right track too, as is seen from the list of rehab clinics it offers users that ask it to source out drugs for them. 

Siri’s real wit is showcased when users ask her profound questions like ‘What is the meaning of life?’ Siri’s answers range from ‘I don’t know, but I think there’s an app for that.’ to ‘To think about questions like this.’ 

Siri is the perfect embodiment of the Apple philosophy of mixing work with a little bit of pleasure. A functional tool, Siri not only promises to make mundane everyday chores easy for iPhone users, it also ensures that they have a bit of fun along the way too. 

It’s no wonder then that the ‘Assistant’ has put Apple back in the leading position in the smartphone market. With orders for the iPhone 4S shooting through the roof, the coming year promises to be a very good one for the company. What will be interesting to see are the answers Samsung has for the questions Siri has posted for the competition.
