Just shy of 5 days, the highly anticipated Ice Cream Sandwich and Samsung's latest smartphone rumored to be Galaxy Prime smartphone will be launched.
The official date has been confirmed as October 19. The event which will be held in Hong Kong was originally scheduled to be held in San Deigo on October 11. The event was rescheduled owing to the death of former Apple CEO Steve Jobs.
While the arrival of Ice Cream Sandwich is imminent now, we are keeping our fingers crossed that the Galaxy Prime will also join the spotlight.
The Nexus Prime aka Galaxy prime is rumoured to pack in a 1GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage and a powerful TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex A9 1.2GHz processor. Other powerful specs that the smartphone bundles up is a 1750 mAh battery, 4.65’’ Super AMOLED HD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720p.
It is believed that the most prominent feature of the phone is its curved glass display which bears close resemblance to the Nexus S. The device is expected to support dual cameras- possibly a 1.3-mega pixel front and a 8-mega pixel back camera along with a LTE, WI-Fi and NFC support.
We spotted a very cool video of the Ice Cream Sandwich statue being installed at the Googleplex. A old tradition, Ice Cream Sandwich joins its older siblings Cupcake, Donut, Éclair, FroYo, Gingerbread and Honeycomb.
So, all Ice Cream Sandwich lovers, get ready!
