Complete makeover for next-gen iPhone

Apple's iPhone 5 is again in the rumours, soon after the release of iPhone 4S. According to a post on CNet, the next iPhone to get a major redesign, however this not the first time we are hearing this but still the rumour seems to have some truth.
The website cites two sources for the story. Among which the first one is a research note that has came from analyst Ashok Kumar at Rodman & Renshaw. This research claims that Steve Jobs was closely involved with the upcoming iPhone model from concept to final design. The researcher expatiates attributes that have been circulating earlier, comprising a slimmer casing and bigger screen size.
Whereas, the CNet's, own source has also got quite similar information:
Another source, who I spoke with this week and who claims to have knowledge of the redesign, said the iPhone 5 is a "complete redesign. This is a very large project that Steve dedicated all of his time to. He was not that involved in the 4S because his time was limited."
Most of the industry experts were already expecting that the next-gen iPhone will be rolling out with a complete redesign. With the introduction of the Apple iPhone 4S, the company seems to have following a pattern for its handset releases. According to this trend, first Apple launches a new design and later an improved version of it, similarly as it has already done with iPhone 3G and iPhone 4G.
