After the new generation of its iPhone – the iPhone 4S, Apple is preparing to launch the new version of the iPad –the iPad 3 soon. According to technical and financial analysts, the iPad 3 is set to enter a mass production stage soon.
Jeffrey Fidacaro and Christopher Caso of the Susquehanna financial group commented to mobile beat that as many as 1 million iPad 3 units could be built in the last quarter of 2012 itself. While around 11.5 Million iPads have been shipped in Q3 2011, the figure is expected to cross 13 million units in Q4.
Now seems about time to start producing the iPad 3 and Apple is not one to lag behind. It would be a smart marketing decision to launch the iPad 3 in the first quarter of 2012 itself.
According to reports, the iPad 3 would break from the trend of previous iPads. It would be manufactured in a Foxconn Electronics manufacturing plant in Brazil instead of the ones in China or Taiwan. One more thing that’s different is that it might be equipped with a quad-core A6 processor.
Firstly, Apple can cash on the rising popularity of the iPhone 4S, which has boomed to be the most-selling iPhone ever and secondly, the iPad 3 would be considered one of the first products entering the production sate after Jobs’ demise. Its performance would be critical for mapping out Apple’s future.
Finally, the tablet market is currently very competitive and dynamically changing. An up-to-date product gets outdated soon enough in this market. It would be favorable for Apple that its iPad 3 can release and capture its market share fast.
We hope that the iPad 3 is released in the first quarter of 2012 and hits Indian shores soon afterwards.
