Pocket Now got its hands on the very first press shots of Nokia 800, code named ‘Sea Ray’ days before it’s expected unveiling. The smartphone closely resembles the N9 in appearance and style and will probably ship in 3 colours: black, pink and blue.
Nokia doesn’t seem to have changed much in the outer appearance of its latest smartphone since the launch of the N9. From the press shots, the Sea Ray looks identical to the N9 in terms of its size, its full screen display, its thickness and its pillow-like back cover.
What makes the Nokia 800 different from the N9 is of course its Windows Phone 7.5 OS. Powered by a 1.4 GHz processor, the device comes equipped with an 8MP camera, a Carl Zeiss lens, a LED flash and a 3.7’’ AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass. The touch screen will sport a WVGA 800 x 480p resolution. The phone offers 16GB of internal storage, making it a convenient device for most smartphone enthusiasts.
Nokia has been making waves on the internet with its new Windows Phone 7.5 devices for some time now. Just last week, ads of its newest smartphones were found online, pushing users to anticipate a November release for the devices. The ‘Sea Ray’, the ‘Sabre’ and the ‘Ace’ are expected to launch at Nokia World 2011 in London at the end of the month and are expected to hit the retail markets soon after.
Now is a good time for Nokia to get into action and release its Windows Phone 7.5 powered devices. If the devices born out of the Microsoft and Nokia partnership work without any glitches, the two tech giants may just be able to carve a unique identity for themselves in a world dominated by Apple and Android.
