The much anticipated Razr is here and from official Motorola videos, it looks like it is here to stay for a very long time. Motorola’s teaser has now become a full fledged ad for the smartphone on YouTube

Published on Oct 20, 2011

Motorola was wetting the world’s appetite with its ‘faster, thinner, smarter, stronger’ trailer for days before the Razr’s official launch. Now that the smartphone has been officially released, the company has converted the teaser into a minute and a half long advert showcasing the brilliance that is Droid Razr. Another advert of the phone that is targeted at the European market sells the device as a sleek, sexy must-have.

If the videos are to believed, the Droid Razr might just be the next best thing with its 1.2 dual-core processor and 1GB RAM. It’s 16GB of internal storage is complemented with an additional 16GB offered by a microSD card.

Though the phone has been released on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, it will most likely get upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich by early 2012. For now, the design of Motorola’s new smartphone is what sets it apart from its peers. At only 7.1mm, it is so thin that it’s hard to imagine what a powerful machine it actually is.

The phone is very well protected too. Its 4.3’’ qHD AMOLED display with a resolution of 960 x 540p is covered by Gorilla Glass. The stainless steel core and the phone’s outer body are kept from harm by a Kevlar and aluminium coating. The phone is also protected by a splash-proof casing.

The 117gms phone comes equipped with two cameras, a rear facing 8MP capable of HD video recording and a front facing 1.3MP facilitating video calls. The Razr includes the usual Micro USB and HDMI ports as well.

Powered by an 1800 mAh battery, the smartphone promises a full day of use that includes, talk, text and internet surfing. Users can sync files from their computers to the Razr with the help of Motorola’s MotoCast as well.

As if the specs of the phone were not impressive enough, Motorola’s videos with their red, black and grey colour scheme are selling the phone as the most sophisticated device there is. The company’s stylish ads will definitely have smartphone enthusiasts lining up for the device when it releases next month.
