Nokia puts an NFC gaming video on YouTube

Published on Oct 21, 2011

Nokia has recently posted a video revealing the NFC gaming features on YouTube. It showcases a number of pursuits that developers could get into games to enhance a bit more social aspect or just making the gameplay more interesting.

There's nothing much exciting actually in this video demonstration, but the games are card-based that is not so exciting for the today's gamers. However, the Nokia's taking NFC appears interesting, as it might be used in other technology too.

In the other demonstration, you'll see a teddy bear game in which you have to tap the right part of the teddy bear, appearing on your phone's screen. Again, gamers of Call of Duty would certainly laugh but it is actually an interesting concept, basically from an educational point of view.

The new Near-field communication (NFC) feature works through physically touching two gadgets together, or a device and a card or pad. Currently, retailers like McDonalds and Pret a Manger have started using the system for small-value payments. it makes the payment process faster and easier.

This new feature will also let you share BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) contact cards on BlackBerry, soon after the launch of BlackBerry Tag technology by the year end.

NFC seems to take tad bit time to release, however many analysts believe it is coming soon.
