The expanding telecom markets in the Asia-Pacific region is likely to continue through out the year, and will make the entire mobile subscription rate in the continent to grow by more than 15 per cent. The handset market in the region still has the potential to grow at a rate of more than a 10 per cent for at-least coming two years, according to an ABI Research report.
The smartphone market is also likely to grow with 24 per cent share in total mobile phone sales in 2011, which is 17 per cent more than last year.
The report says, that their will be a significant growth of 56 per cent smartphone sales in this year. It clearly indicates that the increasing demand for smartphones in Asia.
The Android OS in Asia has achieved 36 per cent of market share in the period of just one year. A recent evaluation says Asia is still a developing business, where just 27 per cent of handsets sold are smartphones. On the other hand, the number goes around double in the US with 40 per cent.
Now if Android, keeps growing with the same pace, then the day is not far when Asia will become a most essential and even central part of the smartphone industry.
