Windows Phones have completed a year. After being launched amongst much fanfare a year ago, Windows Phone now boasts of manufacturers such as HTC, LG, Samsung and Dell on its bandwagon. Released with just 1000 apps, the Windows Phone marketplace has hit the 35,000 apps and continues to rise.
The Windows Phone 7 OS opened to tough competition from the likes of Android and iOS. Its boasts of not only Microsoft’s very own Xbox Kinect and Live tiles, but even apps and games from independent developers.
Not only that, with the release of Mango, the web marketplace has also gone live.

♦ 35131 in the USA Marketplace
♦ 5081 of the apps are inactive
♦ 52% of the apps are available for FREE
♦ The Average price of the apps is $1.70 < Rs. 68 approx>
The Windows Phone OS is now amongst the world’s top 3 platforms and with the growing multitudes of apps available coupled with the recent release of Mango SDK, which comes with 1500 more API’s.
