The Korean mobile phone manufacturing company, Samsung has announced that it has shipped above 30 million Galaxy S and Galaxy S II Android smartphones across the world. It is something highly impressive in a mobile landscape, which is seemingly dominated by Apple's iPhone models.
Although the great news for the company, the move is hardly a suprise as Samsung has already announced in the month of September that it had already shipped 10 million Galaxy S II. The handset has late but recently has made a debut in US.
JK Shin, president and head of Samsung's Mobile Communications Business, says "Since its launch only five months ago, Galaxy S II has seen tremendous sales success and garnered enthusiastic reviews from consumers and mobile industry watchers across the globe. This is in addition to the continued sales momentum behind Galaxy S, which we launched at Mobile World Congress 2010 as continues to be a run-away success with consumers."
The Samsung Galaxy S II first showcased at Mobile World Congress 2011, and the brand sold its more than 3 million units within first 55 days in the global market.
The mobile phone giant finally announced back in August that the smartphone would be landing in American boundaries with carriers AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile (but not Verizon). However, the Galaxy S was released last year on several carriers which is also doing great in the market.
