Nokia showcases a completely different kind of smartphone, Nokia Kinetic. It is featuring fantastic flexible body that can easily be twisted. This latest Nokia device unveiled at the Nokia World 2011 event conducted by the company this month.
The prototype is a 5-inches device looks pretty much like a tablet and sports a flexible AMOLED screen. The device comes equipped with two interesting applications - a photo viewer and another one is a music player. It has two different modes that are convex and the concave.
If you want to select an icon on the display, then you have to move the device in a convex position. While, if you want to move back to the earlier page, then you have to move back the device in the concave position.
You can also zoom in and zoom out of the photos easily, just by twisting the handset in forward or backward direction. Whereas, the similar kind of twist is needed to start or stop applications. Moreover, if the user bends the gadget form one side to the other side then he would get to see the music gallery and the image albums. The Nokia Kinetic is an appropriate design for the modern operating systems.
At first look this technology appears to be excellent, however there are still number of restrictions that it will have to face during the development. One of the drawback of this handset is, it cannot be operated with one hand.
On the other hand, the upcoming Nokia smartphone is believed to offer a great experience to the mobile gamers.
We have earlier also heard of the similar kind of concept of manufacturing a flexible phone by Synaptics and Kyocera, in which they failed miserably.
Lets see if Nokia's Kinetic gets success or not.
