Time Zone: a bug that eats up iPhone 4S battery

As per the latest information Apple iPhone4S users are facing battery problem with this handset. No one actually knows that what is the real cause for draining of the battery by 20 percent in just one hour. Apple engineers are contacting the users who are facing this problem and they are trying their best to resolve this battery issue.

Many users claims that it is happening because of the Time Zone feature of iOS5. If you disable this feature then you can save your battery to get drain. But how it is true that will be unveiled later. But the good thing is that Apple technicians are proactive in solving this problem. 

If you use your handset and work on the apps like iCloud and Siri location awareness then your battery will be reduced at the speed of 10 percent per hour, but if you leave it on the standby mode then it will drain about 5 percent. So, it is speculated that the problem is in the software part and not in the hardware.

Even it is reported that Apple has advised one of its customer to install a diagnostic tool on his iPhone4S, but how useful it is really difficult to guess. It was earlier reported that the next generation iPhone or iPhone4S would have a long battery life, but it seems totally opposite to it.

The location services like Time Zone use Wi-Fi connection if it is in the range and it uses the GPS and besides it uses the mobile mast data simultaneously to provide the time based location. So, in this process it is must that it will eat up lot of battery. According to the report of The Guardian, the service remains active even when the user has not moved to a different location of time zone.  The service is running repeatedly on the background even when there is no need to do so.

So, hopefully Apple will fix this bug as early as possible other buying an Android phone with a low battery back up is also not a bad deal.
