
Samsung might announce the Galaxy Note in India today

Samsung, it seems, is all set to launch its Galaxy Note in India today. Although it has not been confirmed as yet, the Galaxy Note handset seems the pre-eminent reason for the press conference taking place today. The Note, was announced at the IFA 2011, and is slated to debut in India and UK today.
The Note has generated a lot of hype since it is being called the world’s first tablet/smartphone hybrid. The device is equipped with one of the largest smartphone screens ever – a 5.3-inch monster.
The Galaxy Note would come with Android 2.3-Gingerbread OS, but is expected to get an Ice Cream Sandwich OS update soon.
Along with a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED WXGA 1280 x 800p capacitive touchscreen, it boasts of a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor and 3G, GPRS and Wi-Fi connectivity. In addition to that the device comes with an 8-megpixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel front one for video chatting,
It also includes an S-pen, which is useful for taking notes. The S-pen is clamed to have full touchscreen sensitivity and having functions such as pressure, sensitivity, speed etc. The handset comes with 16 GB internal memory which can be expanded to 32 GB using a MicroSD card.
The Galaxy Note will come with many interesting features such as a-GPS, digital compass, YouTube, Google Talk and Picasa integration. It will also come pre-loaded with Adobe Flash 10.1 and Samsung’s own instant messenger – ChatOn.
The handset’s powerhouse lies in its strong 2500 mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy Note is expected to be priced around Rs 35,000 although Samsung has, as yet, refused to disclose a price tag for the device.
