LG rolls out Gingerbread update schedule for Optimus range

LG has finally revealed the Gingerbread update schedule for its Android smartphones. The brand is providing upgrades for its Optimus range of mobile phones including Optimus Black, 3D and 2X.

LG has globally announced the release of the Gingerbread update for its devices, which seems bit outdated at the time when Icecream Sandwich has arrived. With this update, the entire LG Optimus series smartphones comprising of the Black, 2X and the 3D will get the Android 2.3 version of OS.

Whereas, its competitors like HTC and Sony Ericsson have already announced the upgradation of the latest smartphones to Ice Cream Sandwich, where LG again seems left behind.

Well for now, this roll out has already begun with the LG Optimus 2X first on Nov 1. However, the other two handsets will get this update later in the same month following, LG Optimus 3D on Nov 21 and LG Optimus Black on Nov 28. The unlocked devices will first get the Gingerbread upgrade.

These mentioned dates are basically for the Europe, as the company is initiating the roll out from there and eventually it will be available for other countries as well. The brand has published this information on its official Facebook account.
