Apple fans are in for a treat. According to the recent news it appears that Apple is gearing up for a major overhaul for some of its products in 2012. The list as expected includes iPad and iPhone and extends to iMac, and MacBook Air. It appears that Apple will be finalizing the orders for all the key parts and components for the iPad 3 by this December itself.
According to Digitimes source the "key parts and components for the next-generation iPads will be sufficient enough for the production of two million units by year-end 2011." The source further revealed that Apple has directed the supply chain makers to "develop a flat panel modules and LED light bars for two iPad prototypes, codenamed J1 and J2." Even with everything in the pipeline, it seems unlikely that the iPhone 5 will be revealed early in 2012.
We are quite excited to hear this news (or perhaps rumors). The iPhone is definitely something that we will witness a major makeover in. We had been anticipating its release for this year, however we were greeted by iPhone 4S. While critics defined it as "disappointing" the iPhone 4S sales figures ( a astounding 4million in the first week) had a different story to tell. As a matter of fact the iPhone 4S surpassed its popular predecessor by over 2 million. Given that the iPhone 5 is slated for a release next year, we are definitely seeing a new design and another smashing product.
Similar expectations have been set for the next generation iPad. According to Mac rumors," the iPad has only seen two releases, each with a slightly different design. Again, the basic design constraints will limit it to a 9.7" display, but another report has suggested the 2012 design will be an even thinner design."
Apple has consolidated its position as the market leader in the smartphone and tablet market - with the "new designs" in the pipeline looks like Apple is on letting go of its crown any time soon.
