There is a good news for heavy text message users that is from now they can enjoy sending more texts per day. The mobile phone services regulating authority, TRAI has increased the per day SMS limit from 100 to 200. This decision has been taken on the continuously received representations from mobile users as well as service providers both to increase the limit.
Trai had limit the SMS cap to 100-SMSes a day, in-order to stop unwanted and disturbing SMSes from telemarketers, which causes inconvenience to consumers. All this has also restricted those subscribers, who use multiple SIM cards to send text messages without even registering themselves as telemarketers.
However, mobile phone users didn't like this idea as it had restricted them to just 100 text messages only. After the imposition of this new regulation on telemarketers by TRAI on September 27, various renowned service providers like Vodafone, Airtel and Idea Cellular stopped providing special SMS packs.
These message packs usually allows users to send text messages at slashed prices for a month. Even if some of them were providing then also they put limits on them to 100 text messages a day, as per the TRAI norms.
