At a recent press conference Samsung India's Country head Mobile and IT revealed a little more than we had expected. Ranjit Yadav spilled the beans about the release of Galaxy Nexus in India.
According to Sammy hub, during a Q& A session at the launch of the Galaxy Note, Yadav was quoted as saying that the "tentative launch ( Galaxy Nexus) will be this year and not next." The words come straight form the horses mouth, which marks its authenticity. We just hope that things fall in place and the Galaxy Nexus arrives as promised to the Indian consumers by December.
Galaxy Nexus was launched recently with much fanfare. The highly anticipated smartphone's claim to fame is that it is the world's first Android Ice cream Sandwich powered smartphone.
The Android 4.0 platform brings in a unique interface and highly intuitive gestures, a step up from its Android 2.3 sibling. Well that is not all. The super smartphone encompasses a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1750mAh rechargeable battery and a big 4.65-inches Super AMOLED plus display supporting 1280 by 720 pixels resolution giving text, videos and games a more vibrant and rich presentation.
Strapped to a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera that comes with 1080p video capabilities, Galaxy Nexus also offers 1 GB RAM and great connectivity options through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The device is expected to be released in two variants - a HSPA+ and LTE version.
From earlier rumored reports it appears that Galaxy Nexus would cost a bomb. IIn order to lure the Indian consumers pricing will be the key and if Samsung nails it, the company could have yet another winning product in their portfolio.
