Most of the mobile phone giants in the industry are already preferring Android platform, where French mobile phone manufacturer is keen on join the Android camp. The brand is speeding up the development of its own Android devices. Alcatel appears to be prepping the Alcatel One Touch 995, which rumored to embed the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, according to a news post on a website Android Authority.

As per an employee from Alcatel, who spilled NieuweMobiel.NL of the One Touch 995, the smartphone features a 4.3-inch touchscreen, runs the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread version, and powered with a 1.4-GHz processor.

A few other specs mentioned by the tipster comprises a 5-megapixel camera and looking at leaked pictures, it seems to be sporting a front facing camera. The smartphone boasts a marvelous UI, which they call a 3D carousel. This is pretty much like SPB Shell 3D, which is a kind of homescreen launcher that allows the homescreen to rotate and have a 3D view.

Besides, it is rumoured to be thinner than an inch and would be lighter in comparison to various other smartphones already present in the market.

Alcatel's One Touch 995 is expected to come out at a competitive price of EUR199.00 (Rs. 13,561approx.) in Europe.

There is no confirmation from Alcatel as of now, although, the company is likely to officially announce the Alcatel One Touch 995 at next year’s Mobile World Congress 2012.

However, Alcatel’s greatest news is that if the smartphone doesn’t release with Ice Cream Sandwich OS, then company will definitely provide the Android 4.0 updates soon to the device.
