Samsung loyalists have another reason to look forward to the Galaxy Nexus. The new Ice Cream Sandwich powered smartphone gives up its whole screen to apps that need it. Users are indeed in for a bigger, brighter video watching experience on the phone’s 4.65’’ display.
When the apps go full screen, the on-screen keys automatically hide away. According to GSMArena, video and gallery apps make full use of the phone’s HD Super AMOLED display, without the navigation keys cramping the apps’ style.
The full screen apps feature is one of the many that make the Galaxy Nexus exciting. The device runs on a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and sports a 5MP rear-facing camera accompanied by a 1.3MP front-facing one. With 1GB RAM and support for a MicroSD card, memory is no problem on Samsung’s latest offering. Running on a 1750 mAh battery, the Galaxy Nexus is all set to function on 4G speeds, wherever they are available.
With all that the Galaxy Nexus offers on Ice Cream Sandwich, it’s no wonder that it’s being pitted against the iPhone 4S by smartphone enthusiasts. One of the smartest handsets from the house of Samsung, the Galaxy Nexus is slated to do extremely well in the coming months, consolidating the manufacturer’s position in the smartphone market.
The preview of the phone’s apps going full screen has removed all doubts about how well ICS will use the Galaxy Nexus’s enormous HD screen. Backed by 4G speeds and a hopefully long battery life, video watching on the go will definitely top the list of ‘must-do things on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus’ for smartphone lovers.
