Even in death, Steve Jobs rules the charts. NBC Nightly news anchor Brian Williams has nominated Jobs to be the Time Magazine ‘Person of the year’.
Williams was quoted as saying in his nomination speech,” One guy who changed our world. Not only did he change the world, but he gave us that spirit again that something was possible that you could look at a piece of plastic or glass and move your finger-- that's outlandish.
You could make things bigger or smaller like that. 'Oh the places you'll go' and oh the way you will change forever the music and television industries. So may he rest in peace, Steve Jobs, and the spirit he represents, are my nominee for Person of the Year.”
Time magazine is renowned to nominate tech innovators as persons of the year. The previous Person of the year was none other Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Steve Jobs is expected to win due to the impact that he left not only in life, but even in death. In life, he enthralled us even his death, with many websites crashing on the day of his death and billions of condolences pouring worldwide.
The sensation created by Steve Jobs’ death also has its created its own criticism. People are aghast by the hoopla created around his death because it is quite true that although Jobs came up with exemplary products, he seldom them for public good. He even shut down Apple’s altruistic when he came back at the helm of Apple in 1996.
Steve Jobs competes with American activist Elizabeth Warren and Egyptian activist Esraa Abdel Fateh in the same category.
Time Magazine will reveal the result next month.
