Amazon’s next tablet might be called the ‘Kindle Ice’
Published on Nov 11, 2011
After a successful innings with the Kindle Fire, Amazon is touted to come up with the Kindle Ice. The tablet is prepped to be launched within the first quarter of the next year. Amazon has purchased many domain names with the same name.
There is the interesting story behind the domain names. On September 28, this year, the same day the Kindle Fire was announced, New York resident Jeffrey Casserino registered many domain names for the Kindle Ice. Amazon is claimed as the owner of the same.
While the Kindle Fire was based more on the Blackberry Playbook, Kindle Ice is expected to be more of Amazon’s own design.
The WHOIS record of the domains is listed below:

Amazon’s seems quite creative with its tablet names; first fire, then Ice. The Kindle Ice has been unheard of, until now. We expect it to be Amazon’s second Android tablet.
Besides the Kindle Ice, Nokia also seems to have Silk browser under its wings.
While Amazon is set to launch the Kindle Fire and the Kindle Ice, there is no indication yet of its famed ‘Hollywood’ and ‘Coyote’ tablets on the horizon. While the Kindle Fire and Ice are expected to be affordable tablets. The tablets also called ‘iPad-killers’ were expected to be high-end tablets competing with the Apple iPad.
