Motorola India declared sometime back that the Motorola Droid Razr would be unveiled in India this month. It seems the announcement is coming to fruition as Flipkart has already started taking pre-orders for the phone with a price tag of Rs. 33,990.

The handset seems to have dropped the ‘Droid’ from its name and is being called just the Razr XT910 here. Claimed to be the world’s slimmest smartphone and equipped with a high-end price tag, the Motorola Droid Razr has much going for it.

One of the foremost features of the handset is its form factor. Its thickness of 7.1mm is one of the best in the industry. Along with that, it comes with a 4.3-inch display, an 8-megapixel camera and a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor.

The Motorola Droid Razr runs on Android 2.3 – Gingerbread OS. An Ice Cream Sandwich update is expected to roll out soon for the smartphone.

The Super AMOLED touchscreen, encased in Gorilla glass coating offers a resolution of 540 x 960p. It comes with multi-touch, accelerometer and a proximity sensor. Along with 1 GB RAM, it offers 16 GB internal storage and 32 GB external memory support.

The Motorola Droid Razr will be supported by a powerful 1780 mAh battery. The handset will also come with business-class encoding and VPN access. It will be pre-loaded with a smart actions app that will act as a personal assistant optimizing battery, scheduling tasks and reminders and remembering different Wi-Fi connections.

Much like Apple’s iCloud, Motorola has equipped the smartphone with a Motocast app, that would provide you cloud storage at MyMotoCast.com, along with Wi-Fi syncing and secure access.

One surprise with the Motorola Droid Razr was that it wasn’t launched with the Ice Cream Sandwich OS. With Motorola securely under the wings of Google, it was expected to be the poster child for all kinds of updates, but instead Google opted for Samsung to come out with the Ice Cream Sandwich enabled Galaxy Nexus.
