Next Nokia phone WP phone called ‘Champagne’, runs on Windows Tango

Nokia seems all set top come out with its next Windows Phone – the Champagne. The Champagne is creating a buzz online.

 The news was revealed by the ‘I am a WP7’ app that keeps a tab on all Windows news. The Nokia champagne also previously featured on an app list alongside the HTC Titan.

The Champagne handset is touted to run on the Windows Phone Tango i.e. Windows 7.10.8711, which is minor, update to the Windows OS. Tango is supposed to be a version of Windows designed for low-end phones.

Another thing in circulation is that Windows build 8200 and above will be assigned as Windows Tango build. Currently, the operating system is host to a lot of speculation, but it seems to be designed for budget phones.

Taking that into account, the Nokia Champagne might not be a high-end smartphone like the Nokia Lumia 800. It might just be a budget smartphone. Another OS in processing is the Apollo, which is  expected to be released in Q2 2012.

Nokia recently unveiled its Windows Phone running Nokia Lumia 800 , equipped with Windows Phone 7.5 update. The phone is a  high-end handset equipped with exciting Windows features such as Xbox Live and Live Tiles. They are expected to hit Indian shores today.

Other rumored phones include the Nokia Lumia 900 or the Nokia Ace, expected to be the successor of the Nokia Lumia 800.

We would expect the Windows Phone Tango to be quite similar to the Android 2.2 –Froyo OS, which currently powers budget handsets with the likes of Spice Mi-300 and Micromax Andro A60.
