The launch of Nokia’s Lumia handsets in India has triggered off a series of similar launches by Motorola and Apple in the country. The high-end Lumia 800 is now available in the Indian market at a price of Rs. 29,000/- and the mid-range Lumia 710 is retailing at Rs. 19,000/-. The Lumia 800 is currently the most expensive Windows Phone in the market.
The Motorola Razr is already available with online retailer Flipkart, though it was earlier set to launch later in the year in India. GSM reports that the smartphone costs Rs. 33,990/-. With its 4.3’’ qHD Super AMOLED display and Gingerbread OS, the Razr is one of the fastest, most powerful Android phones from the house of Motorola. The only other device that has Android loyalists excited is the soon to arrive Galaxy Nexus that runs on the ICS OS.
The smartphone that has taken the world by storm is ready to hit Indian shores on November 25. The iPhone 4S will start retailing through cellular carrier Aircel and rumour has it, Airtel as well. The price of the much anticipated smartphone has still not been revealed, but according to Aircel’s official website, pre-orders for the phone will start as early as November 18.
With the biggest players in the mobile market like Nokia, Motorola and Apple competing for the attention of Indian consumers, choosing a smartphone has never been so exciting in the country. With every smartphone manufacturer viewing India as an emerging market with the tones of promise, Indian smartpahone enthusiasts are in for a real treat in the coming months.
