Huawei unveils next generation of cloud smartphones Huawei Sonic and Huawei IDEOS X3 for Indian mobile users

Stepping up its game, Huawei unveiled two Android based "cloud" smartphones for Indian consumers today. Dubbed Huawei Sonic and  Huawei IDEOS X3, the two youth oriented smartphones provide 16GB Cloud disk for storage and richer messaging with Message+ to share texts, pictures, videos and voice notes.

Well that is not all, the two smartphones also include Huawei Streams which provides a integrated social phonebook experience, a Huawei App Store for accessing all the  popular Indian and global apps (Atom for payments and bookings, Astute for online TV, Bollywood for the latest movie and more), a Sync Data and Over the air(OTA) Solution for quick OS upgrades and a Cloud Gallery to view and share pictures and videos seamlessly.

Priced at Rs 9,210 Huawei Sonic is powered by the latest Android Gingerbread operating system. Sporting a 3.5''(8.9 cm) HVGA capacitive multi-touch display, the device offers better coverage and data performance via Receive Diversity and Wi-Fi 11n for 6 times faster internet. Sonic is also seen sporting a noise cancellation with dual-mic and useful syncing feature for music downloads. The cloudphone is equipped with a 1400 mAh long-lasting battery, 512MB on-board storage and 20GB additional storage (4GB bundled micro SD card and 16GB cloud net drive).

The second smartphone Huawei IDEOS X3 boasts of impressive specs as well. The stylish phone sports Huawei's new UI offering 3D homepage animations  making for a great navigation experience. Powered by Android 2.3, the IDEOS X3 cloud phone comes pre loaded with Google Maps, Google Talk, Gmail and YouTube. The device features a 3.2 mega-pixel camera and a front facing VGA. A 3.2" HVGA screen and the latest 3.5G (7.2 Mpbs), Wi-Fi 11n for faster internet along with 512MB on-board storage and 20GB additional storage, makes IDEOS X3 a steal for Rs 10,229.

Speaking at the occasion P. Sanjeev, Sales Director at Huawei Devices said, "we are pleased to bring Cloud Services in India for the first time along with the global launch of Huawei's MediaPad. Both Huawei Sonic and IDEOS X3 have received resounding sales success world-wide and we are pleased to offer these next Generation of Smartphones with cloud services for the first time."

Now Indian consumers can enjoy the latest Cloud Services on a range of Huawei devices,"said Chetan Bhagat, Huawei's brand ambassador. The two devices will come with a 3GB download for 3 months with Aircel.

Apart from Sonic and IDEOS X3, Huawei also launched its much anticipated Android Honeycomb tablet- MediaPad. Priced at Rs 28,359 MediaPad is powered by Qualcomm's 1.2 GHz dual core processor and features a 7-inch LCD screen, 1.3 megapixel front camera and a 5 megapixel auto focus rear camera with HD video recording capabilities. The tablet has a 4100mAh Li-Polymer battery and supports Flash and HSPA+ connectivity.

The Chinese company recently also launched its Ideos range of budget smartphones - IDEOS X5, IDEOS X2 and IDEOS Chat in the Indian market.
