The Samsung Galaxy Tab 730 is now available for purchase at a rate of Rs. 31,990. It will be sold through Brick and Mortar stores. While Letsbuy lists it a rate of Rs. 32,445, Flipkart shows Rs. 30,900, but without an availability date.

Until now the Galaxy tab 730 felt as if it was lost in transition.

Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab 730 back in August. The tablet was supposed to hit the shelves in mid-September, but somehow seems to have been delayed. Its sibling, the Galaxy Tab 750 has been available since long and lists for Rs. 33,990 at Flipkart.

The Galaxy Tab 730, which also goes by the name Galaxy Tab 8.9 in other markets, features a 1 GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, an 8.9-inch TFT display along with Android Honeycomb OS.

In addition to that it boasts of a 3.15-megapixel primary and 2-megapixel secondary camera. It comes with 16 GB memory, 1 GB RAM, Bluetooth 3.0, HSPA+ connectivity and Samsung’s UI – TouchWiz UX.

The Galaxy Tab 730 model in India will come with both Wi-Fi and 3G

Vodafone has also offered a data plan for Galaxy Tab owners. People who opt for the plan will get 2 GB of data per month for six months at a rate of Rs. 3,000.

India was the chosen destination for the Galaxy Tab 730 and Galaxy Tab 750 launch as Samsung was, back then facing lawsuits against Apple in many countries back then. Although launched amongst much fanfare, one of the tablets was available in India till now.

The Galaxy Tab is currently one of the most popular tablets in India posing a solid challenge to Apple’s iPad.

Samsung has also launched the Galaxy Tab 7.7 in European markets. Indian markets are still waiting its arrival.
