Nokia to release WP update for Lumia 800, hoping to fix battery problem too

Nokia is preparing to make a Windows Phone 7.5 update available to users of Lumia 800 that promises to fix software problems. It is also working to solve issues with the battery life of the smartphone

A Winrumors report claims that Nokia is working hard to fix any problems that users of the Lumia 800 might be facing. In the coming days, the firm will release a Microsoft update for the Windows Phone 7.5 platform which will include the software giant’s Build 7740 improvements as well.

The proposed update will fix problems currently faced by users around voicemail notifications and Microsoft Exchange 2003. Right now, when users reply to emails, the original message fails to get included in the reply. With this update, when users reply to or forward a message, the original message will be included in the response.

Microsoft on its part has been working to fix other issues faced by the Windows Phone platform as well and hopefully this update will take care of other minor problems too.

Nokia is also trying to mend battery problems faced by the Lumia 800 after it completely discharges. Of course this is one issue it is working to solve on its own. A source told Winrumors that the update and improvements were currently being tested by carriers and that they will be available to users in the near future.

The Lumia 800 is reportedly Nokia’s best selling smartphone right now. The sooner the Finnish manufacturer is able to release the WP update and fix the battery issues, the better it is. The Lumia 800 has been instrumental in putting Nokia and Microsoft back in the smartphone game and it will be a shame to let a few minor software and hardware issues mess up their advantage.
