Tae Sung Park, CEO of Vidiator says, tablets will take place of the PCs and laptops in the future for young users.
Park also commented at Mobile Asia Congress in a panel discussion, In the older generations people had a while to become habitual with the comparatively slow development of PCs and laptops, whereas the younger ones were born at the time when laptops were usual and have witnessed the explosion of tablets.
Since the launch of the Apple's first tablet, iPad have revolutionised the way of the internet access, email and content. Also, the sales of tablets has reached to new heights with the 300 per cent increase every year, according to Park.
Computers have now outgrown the US, says David Ulmer, the managing director of new growth platforms at SingTel.
With the slash in the prices tablets are becoming more accessible and we have seen the case with the HP TouchPad. When the company cut the prices heavily for the TouchPad, suddenly the demand for it exploded and HP started manufacturing once again for a limited period to fulfill the demand for the device.
Ian Chapman-Banks, GM and executive director consumer, small and medium mobility at Dell Asia Pacific and Japan believes the same thing is going to happen with the Amazon Kindle.
The magic price for tablets is below £100 (around Rs. 8,103) with the best technology, he mentioned.
According to a Cyber Media Reseach report,158,000 tablets were shipped in India between Oct 2010 and June 2011, in a small time lag of just three quarters. It clearly indicates the users in India are also moving towards tablets.
