According to RIM Indonesia, the much awaited BB Bold 9790 will first appear in stores there and will be available in other countries soon after. The newly unveiled smartphone will most likely retail at approx. 360 Euros.
RIM’s BlackBerry Indonesia website is running a teaser that reads “Coming soon to Indonesia”, with the date 25.11.11 printed in the far right corner. The teaser file is named “Hero_Bellagio” where Bellagio is understood by gizmo experts as the code name for the Bold 9790. RIM’s promo has got the world looking out for the 25th of November, the day it believes the smartphone will start retailing in the market.
Though the Bold 9790 looks quite similar to the Bold 9900, it does seem to be a spruced up, curvier and polished version of the smartphone. The 9790 is powered by the BlackBerry 7 operating system and offers 8GB of internal storage that is expandable with a MicroSD card. Running on a 1GHz processor, it has a 2.4’’ touchscreen display with a resolution of 360 x 480p. Of course, the smartphones QWERTY keypad is here to stay.
RIM’s latest device comes preloaded with BlackBerry Messanger, Documents To Go Premium, BlackBerry Protect and BlackBerry Balance. The 9790 supports NFC too and most likely sports a 5MP camera that includes an auto focus feature.
RIM has a strong market presence in Indonesia and it makes sense for the company to release the Bold 9790 there. In fact, RIM recently opened Indonesia’s first BlackBerry Lifestyle Store in Jakarta last week. Rumour has it that RIM has lined up some exciting offers for the first buyers of the Bold 9790 on Friday, including some pretty heavy discounts. If you are a BlackBerry loyalist and are eagerly awaiting its latest smartphone, Jakarta is the place for you to be next weekend.
