No other manufacturer stirs as many rumors as does Apple products. The two upcoming devices which have the rumor mill doing overdrive constitute of Apple iPhone 5 and iPad 3. The recent news surrounding the iPad 3 confirms the higher resolution bit we have been hearing about.
According to a analyst at DisplaySearch, a research firm focusing on display supply market and similar industries, the production for Apple iPad 3 QXGA display has started. Sporting a 2048 x 1536 display, iPad 3 will take a giant leap from its predecessor, iPad 2's 1024 x 768 display.
Richard Shim told CNET that we can start seeing the iPad 3 finished devices by as early as December. The timeline includes shipping in January and gearing up volumes in February and March. He also confirmed Apple will be sourcing the display for its third generation iPad from Samsung, Sharp, and LGD to ensure the volume is enough to launch the product in the market
As rumored earlier, the third generation device will not be equipped with a AMOLED display. The device is expected to sport IPS or commonly known as in-plane switching technology which is seen in present Apple products. The other piece of news ( or rumor) shared by Shim was regarding Apple's foray into the small screen tablet market with its 7.85-inch based iPad tablet. The arrival of this product is expected to be towards the end of the next year, if the demand persists.
Recently we had also heard that there was a possibility that iPad 3 will be thicker (0.7mm) to accommodate the twin light bar system which is essential for the higher-resolution display. The CNET analysts statement is in sync with other news about the third-generation iPad currently being on track for a March timeframe release, with its public display pegged in January.
As the launch date approaches we will be getting more facts and stunning spec details of Apple's next revolutionary tablet.
