Fujitsu Arrows F-07D kicked Motorola Droid Razr off the top spot at the FCC when it measured just 0.26’’ in thickness. The Android smartphone is now the world’s thinnest smartphone with its 6.7mm body

Fujitsu’s Arrows F-07D came out with flying colours at the FCC when it measured only 0.26’’ in thickness. Thanks to this result, it is now considered the thinnest smartphone in the world. Of course, the Japanese are very happy to reclaim the title from the Motorola Droid Razr.

In fact, the Japanese were very unhappy with the Razr’s claim of the title a few weeks ago, despite its bulging camera. Fujitsu has smugly put Motorola at its place at the FCC, even though the Arrows F-07D has a few bulging points of its own, where it extends up to 8.5mm.

Besides its thinness, the Arrows F-07D has some other features that are worth writing home about. It is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm SnapDragon processor and runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. It has 512MB of RAM and 1GB of internal memory. Its waterproof body sports a 4’’ OLED screen with a resolution of 480 x 854p. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass too. The thin phone packs in a 5MP camera, a microUSB port and a microHDMI port.

The pricing of Fujitsu’s thinnest phone is not known yet, but it is expected to launch on NTT DoCoMo next year. Given its specs, it might not be in the league of the Motorola Droid Razr but it could do quite well in the mid range segment of smartphones. The F-07D could well be the phone of choice for those who swear by Japanese innovation and are looking for a ultra thin smartphone with reasonably good features.
