Lumia 800 facing battery draining issues

Customers are reporting that the handset provides less than average battery backup

Nokia has put most of its eggs in the WP7 basket as we all know. The Lumia 800 being the first Nokia Windows Phone has been touted to be the best Windows Phone of the year. Well, it was recently presented the Phone Of The Year award.
So that paints a picture of how the handset is conceived worldwide. But that merely tells a part of the story to be honest. To know how a handset performs, we have to take opinions from the customers who recently bought it. And as of now, it doesn’t seem like the customers are having a great time with the device.
Well, the customers who recently purchased the device in the UK are complaining that certain Lumia 800 handsets have a very poor backup which doesn’t even last a day after full charge. One of the users mentioned that the handset completely drained out after slight usage and a few calls (no Wi-Fi).
Unfortunately, this problem is widespread among Lumia 800 users and is evident from the Nokia support forums where some users have voiced their complaints. It seems like the problem exists on Lumia 800 devices running on the 7.10.7720.68 version of Windows Phone Mango. But Nokia sent out the 7.10.7740.16 update to the devices as a fix to the issue. But some users apparently are still facing the same issue, which is very unfortunate.
We expect Nokia to fix this issue soon, since other world markets are slated to receive the handset soon. It could well be that this particular bug is related with faulty batteries shipped with some devices, since a firmware update didn’t seem to do the trick for the users. The Lumia 800 is set to hit the Indian markets in mid-December, so Nokia will have to come up with a fix as soon as possible.
