Idea is hoping to carve a niche for itself in the ever growing smartphone market with its latest releases. It is looking to win a large customer base with its recently released low to mid range Android handsets. Priced reasonably between Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 10,000/-, these phones offer most features found in a basic smartphone.
Idea’s devices are not completely unknown. In fact, the ID 280 is a rebranded version of Huawei’s Ideos X1 and the ZTE Blade has been rebranded as the Idea Blade. Both the phones run on Android’s 2.2 OS. The ID 280 is powered by a 528MHz processor and offers 256MB RAM and 152MB of internal memory. It runs on a 1200 mAh battery. The Blade is backed by a 600MHz processor and includes 150MB of internal memory that is expandable up to 32GB with a MicroSD card.
The ID 280 comes with a 2.8’’ capacitive display with a resolution of 240 x 320p. It is also equipped with a 3.2MP camera. The Blade features a 3.5’’ display with a resolution of 480 x 800p. It comes with a 3MP camera and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. Of course, both phones are preinstalled with an FM radio. The Blade is light weight at 130 gm and sports dimensions of 116 x 56.5 x 11.8.
Idea’s new phones will be available soon at gadget stores and Idea shops all over the country. Both the ID 280 and the Blade are reasonably priced devices that might just be the perfect buy for those users who desire simple phones with basic features that function well.
