Galaxy S II the best smartphone says Samsung ad

Samsung seems to have scored over Apple with its latest advert. The commercial, found on YouTube, demonstrates how great the Galaxy S II is and that users don’t need to wait for the ‘next best smartphone’ when this device is already readily available. In short, all smartphone hunts can end with the Galaxy S II.

The ad features a line of customers waiting outside Apple stores all over the US to get their hands on the new iPhone 4S.  People are waiting in line with only 9 hours to go till some one looks at a girl using her phone some distance away and asks,  “What has she got there?” That starts of the demo of the Galaxy S II.

The screen of the Galaxy S II is compared to the screen of the iPhone and declared ‘huge’. Of course the phone is demoed to have incredible 4G connectivity and considered ‘amazing’ by its users. The commercial ends with the declaration that ‘the next big thing is already here’ and that smartphone enthusiast don’t have to wait for the new iPhone when they can choose the Galaxy S II.

Samsung’s ad is quite creative and tickles the funny bone. It does drive home the fact that the Galaxy S II has the advantage of speed, connectivity and a large screen. It remains to be seen if these features will dither the resolve of Apple loyalists patiently awaiting the iPhone 4S though. As for Apple, it will be interesting to see how it gets back at Samsung. Given its track record, probably by developing another uber cool device.
