Learn how to start your car using Apple's voice assistant Siri . This neat hack can do act on several other commands as well

The iPhone 4S has been known to do quite a few things differently. Take the friendly voice assistant Siri for example. Well, some developers have managed to improve the feature by adding the ability to start your car with just a simple command.

This cool little plugin for Siri is known as Siri Proxy and the developer was kind enough to mention how it’s done on his blog. Here is an excerpt of his method:

The "Siri Proxy" plugin I wrote handles interaction with a php script that runs on my web server. The php script, which I developed months ago for personal use, allows me to send commands to my car which has a Viper SmartStart module installed.

What’s interesting is that the developer has made the hack work in such a way that it responds to commands such as “pop up my trunk”, “lock my car”, “vehicle panic” etc. This seems like a good way to interact with your car, even though doing these things yourself is relatively quicker.
