Microsoft brings its interactive Windows Phone 7 platform to Android and iOS users

Call it a marketing tactic or a strategic planning, but Microsoft is going the extra way to not just attract users to Windows Phone 7, but also convert existing Android and iOS users to Windows.
The company released a web demo recently giving non-window users a taste of the Windows 7 platform. Accessible from any smartphone browser at http://aka.ms/wpdemo, the demo provides a fully operational Windows phone experience. The only exception is that the main fields like the contacts and the pictures are filled with general stuff rather your own personal one. However it does give a fairly good idea on how it would work on a actual Windows Phone 7.
Since there are lot of things going on a Windows phone, a handy blue dot directs you to the main areas of interest and guides you to other functions. With the Nokia Lumia 800 building up quite a hype, this move comes quite timely.
Crowned as the Mobile of the Year by What Mobile, Nokia Lumia 800 was recently released in India. Bearing a priced tag of Rs 29,000, Lumia 800 which bears resemblance to Nokia N9, comes equipped with a powerful 1.4 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM and 720p HD video recording capabilities. Touted as the "first real Windows phone" by CEO Stephen Elop, the device sports a 3.7-inch impressive touchscreen display (480 x 800 pixels resolution) and a impressive 8-megapixel primary camera and Carl Zeiss optics.
There is little doubt that the interest in the Windows phone has spiked considerably since the launch of the Lumia 800. The live demo will further pique the interest of the smartphone users and garner Microsoft more substantial smartphone market share. Looks like both Nokia and Microsoft have finally found a product that will nurse them back to health, and well wealth.
