Ice Cream Sandwich powered, ASUS Eee Pad MeMo arrives with MeMic phone in January 2012

Bringing in an alternative to the 10 inch tablet, Asus with its 7 inch multi-touch screen tablet, Eee Pad MeMo brings innovation and style together once again.

Showcased at the CES 2011, in its portrait-oriented device that can be used in the usual way with Android Honeycomb applications, Asus adds a twist with a stylus support and a Bluetooth MeMic remote/phone. While the stylus support helps users to select a handwriting input, the Bluetooth MeMic mini phone comes handy in making calls, listening to music or wirelessly controlling different media on your tablet.

Asus Eee Pad MeMO is expected to be powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm 8260 Snapdragon processor. Sporting a 5-megapixel camera on the rear and 1.2-megapixel front facing camera, Asus Asus Eee Pad MeMO will be priced around $499 (Rs  25,000 approx). Initially scheduled to bring a glasses-free 3D display, the tablet dropped all the frills, to keep the cost under control.

According to netbooknews, the "Eee Pad MeMo will have Ice Cream Sandwich ready to boot at launch." However slashgear points out that as the Asus team is  "focused on the Transformer Prime, this 7 inch tablet will get their attention afterwards."

The company recently unveiled its highly anticipated Nvidia Tegra 3 powered Transformer Prime. Equipped with a 10.1’’ screen and 1280 x 800p resolution, the Transformer Prime's 1GB RAM is backed by 32GB / 64GB of internal storage.

Apart from its Tegra 3, Quad core specs, Asus Transformer Prime also packs in a impressive 8-mega pixel snapper on the rear and a 1.3-mega pixel front facing camera. It also houses amazing video capabilities at full HD 1080P recording with 30frames per second.

Asus Transformer Prime is set for a release on December 19.
